Background and Purposes:

Many countries, including Thailand, recognize that the transition to more sustainable economic growth is crucial, and have all committed to deliver the SDG goals. Finance sector is the key lever to support these commitments and to influence the change in the economy by directing the flow of capital away from environmental and social degradation toward sustainable alternative. In order for financial institutions to operate towards sustainable direction, WWF plans to engage with various stakeholders including banks, investors, regulators, and banking associations to support this change.  This position will support the sustainable finance project focusing on stakeholder engagements, coordinating activities and organizing the events including forums, workshops and trainings.

Major Role Responsibilities
 

  1. Support Sustainable Finance Manager in developing or customizing materials for capacity building workshops for targeted financial institutions according to strategic plan designed by SFM, and coordinating with key stakeholders to organize the workshops or events

  2. Support Sustainable Finance Manager in implementing advocacy and developing partnerships with the finance sector and other stakeholders in the region in relation to sustainable finance activities

  3. Perform research on updated local and international standards and framework, business cases, and commodities supply chains related to ESG practices and sustainability disclosures; comply reports and develop tools

  4. Assess and benchmark local financial institutions’ extent of ESG practices and regulatory standards

  5. Provide administrative support to project implementation as assigned  

 
Required Qualification
 

  • Minimum bachelor degree in Finance, economics, sustainable development, environment management or in relevant fields.

  • Master Degree is preferable.

 

  •  At least 2 years of work experiences in finance or banking fields, especially credit/risk management or sustainability, / Or 2 years of work experiences related to corporate sustainability function

  • Understanding of environmental sustainability related to business risks and opportunities is a plus

  • Understand credit risk management is a plus

  • Understand ESG aspects and implications is preferable

  • Possess fundamental working experiences in banking sector is a plus

  • High interested in Environmental topic is required

  • Fluent in English
