WWF Thailand's IKI SCP Phase II Project develops partnership with major hospitality group to promote SCP in the sector

On the 8th of December 2023 the SCP project signed a partnership agreement with the ONYX Hospitality Group at the Oriental Residence in Bangkok.

ONYX Hospitality Group are one of the major players in the hospitality sectors in Thailand, making this a major partnership in the SCP Project's aim to increase sustainability in the sector.

The purpose of the partnership agreement was the sharing of SCP knowledge, with the aim to make the hospitality sector more sustainable through as the result of the exchange. The Agreement was signed between Yuthachai Charanachitta, (CEO of ONYX Hospitality Group and Group CEO of Italthai) and Ply Pirom (SCP Project Manager, WWF Thailand.)

During the ceremony Rattaphon Pitakthepsombat, Deputy conservation director at WWF Thailand gave a speech along with the parties who signed the agreement. All 3 highlighted the potential and opportunities this partnership provided to both organisations moving forwards.

The ceremony concluded with a keynote speech on the sustainability on the hotel and food industry by Melody Melo-Rijk SCP Project Manager at WWF Philippines. The speech provided many insights and lessons into how a hotel can improve and integrate SCP into operations.
