7-9 June 2023

For the first activity of the EET, which was held between 7-9 June 2023, the EEU traveled to Koh Samui, Surat Thani Province, to organize learning activities. The Youth Wildlife Guardians sent representatives to the targeted area and organized activities for students and educational personnel] The learning activities included the screening of the documentaries on VR headsets. The films were used as a learning medium that created excitement and passed on the experiences of the Youth Wildlife Guardians to their fellow youths. Activity-based games were also included to enhance understanding of the current situation in the area concerning global climate change, marine debris, and sustainable food. On the 8th of June, which is World Oceans Day as set by the United Nations, the representatives from Youth Wildlife Guardians, teachers , student, and staff from Onyx Hospitality Group's hotels joined together to collect marine debris at Hua Thanon Community Beach, Koh Samui,

12 - 15 July 2023

On the 12th – 15th of July 2023 the Environmental and Social Foundation (ESF) headed to Krabi, the second stop on the Environmental Education Tour. On the first day ESF and members from the Youth Wildlife Guardians (YWG) organised educational activities for local students, which included an activity with Fish ID Slates. The YWG’s documentaries were also shown to the students through VR headsets. On the second day, an activity to conserve seagrass ecosystems was held at Ao Nam Mao Beach along with the students and the local community

16 - 18 August 2023

On the 16th -18th of August the Environmental Education Unit Travelled to Phuket Province to conduct educational activities Over the three days, the Unit visited schools and the Phuket Mining Museum, educating children from as young as grade 5. Up to 9 schools participated in the activities, totally 550 students. The activities aimed to improve the environmental literacy or the children. To achieve this, educational activities and games targeted towards youths, including climate bingo, were organised. Like the other locations in the tour, the documentaries by the Youth Wildlife Guardians were also shown along with the exhibition. On the 19th, activities focused on coral restoration were held. This included a meeting which led to the formation of the “Coral Restoration through Propagation Project’ ("โครงการฟื้นฟูปะการังโดยใช้การสืบพันธุ์แบบอาศัยเพศ"). The project is the result of collaborative work between researchers, experts, and representatives from the Environmental Education Tour After the meeting the team embarked on a joint field survey and defined the project's area of focus. They also traveled to Sirinath Marine National Park to examine the seagrass and coral reefs in the brackish water areas, as well as to assess the impacts of oil residue on the beach

13 - 15 September

On the next stop of the Environmental Education Tour, the Environmental Education Unit visited three schools in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The educational activities took place from the 13-15 of September and were attended by over 540 students ranging from from 4th to 9th grade. The activities covered the topics of the ocean, ocean waste, sustainable food systems, and climate change. At each school visited, the documentaries developed by the Youth Wildlife Guardians were also shown through the VR headset. On the last day, there was a beach cleaning activity where students and the local community got to participate to clean up and help preserve our environment.
